Begin with the Student Guide to UConn Technology, which covers important information on devices, services, and systems needed as a UConn student, including:
- NetID and Password
- Duo Security (two-factor authentication [2FA])
- Microsoft Outlook (email)
- Student Administration System (registration and schedule changes)
- HuskyCT (learning management system)
Student Technology Training
Student technology training is available in a short course created by students for students. It will prepare you to use the IT systems and services that you will use throughout your time at UConn, whether you are learning online or on campus. Access the Student Technology Training in HuskyCT.
Course Syllabus
Read the course syllabus for information about required course materials, equipment, and software.
Note: Not all instructors add their syllabus to the Syllabus Repository. If your course does not have a syllabus available, contact the instructor. (The course instructor is listed in the Student Administration System.)
Equipment and Software Requirements
An online course at UConn requires the following equipment:
- Computer meets Student Device Requirements (Note: Chromebooks do not meet the minimum requirements and courses have not been designed for use with mobile devices.)
- Dedicated access to high-speed internet with a minimum speed of 1.5 Mbps (4 Mbps or higher is recommended)
- Webcam with microphone
Your course syllabus will provide more information on additional equipment and software that may be required.
Course Access
Access your online course using HuskyCT (Blackboard), which is UConn’s Learning Management System (LMS). Navigate to lms.uconn.edu and login with either your email or NetID and password.
Accessing Your Course from a Foreign Country
Some foreign countries may limit or prohibit access to certain U.S. websites, including HuskyCT, YouTube, ProctorU, and other sites required for completing your online course. It is your responsibility to review the course syllabus ahead of time and understand any limitations there may be in accessing required content. While using UConn’s VPN may allow you to gain access to HuskyCT and other related content, it is your responsibility to know and abide by laws and regulations where you are located.
